PROFILE
Mark has a vast experience in the construction industry on both the client's representative side and for main contractors in all stages of the construction process. His main strength is in the management / co-ordination of the project team to bring together a project that meets the client's requirements on design, cost and programme.

Specialisms:project management, design co-ordination planning and programming, all of which he heads up on behalf of Lesley Morris Associates.


PROFESSIONAL HISTORY

1999 to Present
ELDER PROJECT MANAGEMENT LTD

Purchase and development of properties in joint venture schemes, project managing the planning approvals, design, cost consultancy and marketing of the properties.

Project management of feasibility, planning approval, design and costings of hotel and leisure projects.

1989 - 1999
KIER GROUP PLC
Design team manager for Moss Design & Build (part of the Kier Group). Managing the client liaison, the design team and liaising with construction management at feasibility, tender and construction stages of a project.

1987 - 1989
TAYLOR WOODROW PLC

Site Agent responsible to a project manager on a number of projects, including the Royal College of Art, value £8 million, and Elm House, a twelve storey office for the Metropolitan Police Fraud Squad, value £4 million.

Started with Taylor Woodrow and did intensive training on site engineering and construction planning, with most of the time spent on site.

1985 - 1987
SAVOY GROUP PLC

Project Co-ordinator responsible to the technical services manager for all capital expenditure projects. This included numerous feasibility studies on various projects. The Savoy Group had approximately £20 million worth of projects in progress at this time, including a £15 million new kitchen and back of house installation, block refurbishment of suites and the design and construction of the Oyster Bar.

1983 - 1985
RANK HOTELS PLC

Project Co-ordinator responsible to the technical services manager for all capital expenditure projects. This included the construction of both a casino and a complete new banqueting and conference facility at the Gloucester Hotel, plus the design of a health and leisure centre on the eighth floor of the building.

ACADEMIC INTERESTS
As Mark's career has diversified from hotel management to construction project management, he has taken the necessary training and has attained membership of both CIOB and IQA.

PERSONAL INTERESTS
Mark has a diverse range of personal interests including cooking, wining and dining, golf and touring with his indie band, The Father Teds.
