Specialises in dispute resolution, but is actively involved in full range
of services provided by Lesley Morris, including bill preparation, cost
planning and subcontract post contract surveying.
Also heavily involved in business development
Main contracting background both in the UK and overseas, working on a
diverse selection of prestigious projects including roads, hospitals,
petrochemical, high rise, heavy civils, refurbishment and crown court
construction.
Director of this newly formed consultancy which provided the full commercial
service from conception to completion.
Commercial Manager leading the preparation and negotiation of the final account
on the Virgin Airways head office project, including the compilation of both
a comprehensive extension of time narrative, plus fully detailed loss and expense
particulars and ultimately preparation for arbitration.
Commercial Manager overseeing local staff on three high rise projects
in Bangkok, Thailand; one with thirty four floors, one with forty seven
floors and the other with thirty floors. In addition, also managing two
fit out projects; one retail, the other for offices.
February 1994 to February 1995 : Commercial Manager and Project Co-ordinator
on the Reading and Kingston Crown Court Projects, valued at £14
and £20 million respectively.
July 1990 to February 1994 : Commercial Manager on the main redevelopment
of Great Ormond Street Hospital, with a final account value of £36
million.
May 1998 to July 1990 : Project surveyor on The Standard Chartered Bank's
UK head office project, with a £14 million final account value.
October 1987 to May 1988 : Project Surveyor on a £4 million, twelve
storey city office refurbishment project for Myton Ltd.
May 1986 to October 1987 : Site Surveyor for Taylor Woodrow International
based in Oman, working both in the capital, Muscat, and in the desert
for several projects including petrochemical work.
October 1983 to May 1986 : Assistant Surveyor for Taylor Woodrow Construction
on an underground reinforced concrete N.A.T.O. operations centre with
a value of £30 million.
September 1980 to October 1983 : Trainee Surveyor for Taylor Woodrow International,
obtaining overseas experience with spells in Nigeria, Trinidad and Oman.
Recently attained an MSc in Construction Law and Arbitration at King's
College London, generally recognised as the premier course of it's type
in the country. This included a 20,000 word dissertation entitled 'The
Effect of The Construction Act 1996 upon Security For Payment of Subcontractors
and Recommendation For Further Legislation' a copy of which resides in
the college library.
Mini rugby coach at Maidenhead RFC with the aim of attaining full Rugby
Football Union coaching accreditation, and ultimately coaching at senior
level. Previously spent thirty years playing, firstly at school and then
at West London RFC (previously Old Gaytonians, including coaching and
setting up their junior section). Also played for British Club Bangkok,
The Northerns in Trinidad and Muscat in Oman.
